Gallery: Burgundy, Jura, and Beaujolais, Spring 2026

In April and May 2026 we led two groups through the storied land of Burgundy, along with a side trip to Jura and (for group two) a quick visit to Beaujolais.

The best way to experience and learn about Burgundy is staying in it, taking your time (two wineries a day at the most), and adding cultural side-visits to enhance the knowledge about the culture and history. And, of course, walk through some Grand Cru vineyards. Our side visits included visiting a mustard bar, a private tour of the Hospice de Beaune (including the iconic wine cellars, which few get to see), and traditional of-the-place lunches. We visited larger historic wineries along with tiny garage-sized operations.

Each day ended back at our home base (Nuits-St.-George for group wine, and the castle at Chateau Perriclos for group two), with Chef Julien preparing a delicious group meal.

What we were most proud about for these tours was the pace. Each day felt like a heartbeat, from the coffee and fresh pastires in the morning, to fun touring and tasting and learning throughout the day, then an early return to our home base to enjoy more wine and some rest (or maybe a long walk) ahead of dinner. Of course, as Julien started cooking the kitchen became the epicenter, which was awesome.

Jura!

Jura blew us away. At the foot of the French Alps, it’s a land of tradition, creeks, waterfalls, and historic winemaking. Hilltop villages, caves, and ancient monasteries abound.
